So You’ve Bought Your Vape Starter Kit. What Next?
You’re a vape user in Canada, particularly in the greater Ontario area. You were interested in getting started vaping, you read up on your options, and you’ve finally taken the plunge on a vape starter kit. You may have bought a Kangertech Vape, a Sigelei 90W Vape, an Eleaf iCare 2 Vaporizer, a Twelve Juno, or a SMOK Stick X8 Vaporizer -- all great first buys for a newer consumer.
But now you’re asking ‘how do I take my sessions up a notch,’ and ‘what should I get next from a vape store near me?’ A great subsequent step is investing in a rebuildable tank, customized to your own vaping preferences.
What is a Rebuildable Tank and Will a Local Vape Shop Sell Them?
Rebuildable Tanks, also referred to as RBA’s and RTA’s, are atomizers with variable hardware that you, the user, can assemble to your personal liking. Atomizers act as a critical component of a vaping machine. They are the engine in your vaporizer that converts e-juice into inhalable vapor. Atomizers come in three main subcategories: disposable atomizers, replaceable coil head atomizers and rebuildable atomizers (RBA), and depending on which atomizer style you select. Let’s start with RBA’s and RTA’s, two of the most popular customs of rebuildable tanks, usually sold at vape stores near you.
A Tale of Two Atomizers: RDA’s and RTA’s. What is an RBA?
An RBA is a ReBuildable Atomizer with a deck or base on which you can wrap a coil and wicks. You can replace the atomizer in your starter kit, which is often a disposable atomizer, with an RBA from your local vape shop. The coil wraps around the system, and by adding a wick you can enhance the quality of produced vapor. Often, vape experts refer to the components within an RBA Atomizer as a “build.” The benefit of using an RBA is that by assembling the coils tighter or looser, you can achieve a desired resistance. Depending on the resistance, you could blow thicker clouds, or reduce the resistance to save your e-juice. Furthermore, by buying only replacement coils and wicks, you reduce the cost of having to buy replacement atomizers
What is an RTA and How Does It Differ From an RDA?
An RTA is a ReBuildable Tank Atomizer which is a kind of RBA that comes with its own juice tank. Like the RBA, RTA’s offer superior cloud production and flavor conversion, and can truly improve the quality of your vape hits. Compared to more complicated sub-ohm tanks, an RTA is simpler to use. However, unlike the RDA, you must clean the juice tank between uses, leading to extra maintenance.
An RDA is a ReBuildable Drip Atomizer. An RTA (Rebuildable Tank Atomizer) is the term used to describe rebuildable atomizers that have a tank to hold your e-juice, meanwhile an RDA (Rebuildable Drip Atomizer) is the term used to describe atomizers that require you to drip your liquid onto the coil. Both contain rebuildable parts, making them the perfect next step to add to your vape starter kit.
